Surfing!

Went to Old Mans' Beach today surfing. It was great! I got up on a few waves but didn't ride too long. It's been a while since I've been out and I wasn't working out the month I was in MN. As you all know though there is only one way to do things and that is to get the hell out there and get it done! This picture is actually taken from on Camp Pendleton. I went with Shawn who is a Marine so we got to park easier on the base. We were surfing out there where the two palm trees are in the picture. Right in front of the Nuclear Plant. It was a cool spot. People chill out there and camp. I think that would be so much fun to just go there for a weekend and just surf! 

TGIF...

The end of today couldn't come fast enough... I feel like I need one of these bottles of JD to ease my mind tonight. I don't have one... but if I did it would help! It was a hell of a day at the studio. It was just a cluster fuck. Between the client and the agency it was so frustrating. I'm glad we get monday off but we still have to shoot more models next week.... 

Fashion Show!!!

So tonight I ended up at the OC Tavern after work... Don't ask how but they had a fashion show for Sela. This is Lauren, one of the founders, strutting her shit down the isle after the show. What a crazy time!

Getting a Place!

I think I found a place! Right in San Clemente with a view of the ocean from the roof! Its a pretty sweet place! I don't have any pictures yet but I will soon! I'm staying with my buddy Shawn until the room is available. It is a really nice gesture! --- Revised--- I just added this picture! It's from Shawns roof towards the ocean. It's out there! Its too bright to show up out there but its there! This is the same view I will have from next door when I get into the new place!

And the Search Begins....

So it's finally back to work on Monday morning! It was great to get back! I got right back into the groove of things. I just need to find a place to live now! My friend Shawn who lives in San Clemente is trying to hook me up with a place next door to him. That would be great! Can't wait to get out of hotels!

California Here I Come!

So I fly out the afternoon after the wedding! It was a little short! I wish I could've stayed longer but it is off to work monday morning! I don't even have a place to stay! Gotta figure that out quick!

Wedding!

This is Alex and Amber after the wedding! It was a good ceremony! Pretty funny since Alex tried to put the ring on backwards and Amber tried to put it on the wrong hand! I hope my wedding (if I ever get married!) is just as funny! I was honored and privileged to stand for my buddy. We had a ton of fun!

MN State Fair!

This was a busy day! So here is a video of the big slide at the State Fair! My niece is going down in front of me on the left! Then the picture of Cheese Curds because they rule and people in the OC have no clue what real ones look like! The photo strip was of Jack and I. This was his first trip into the photo booth! I stole him from Michelle and made it in there before she could.. Haha! 
Then after the fair I met up with some old friends from High School Abby, Annie, and Kelly. Then after that! I was with Sarah and we went over to Netty's house for her pond party! She built this totally elaborate turtle pond in her back yard. It was great to see everyone before I had to leave! Too bad she lost a turtle a couple days later!!! Oh No!

Wedding Rehearsal and Dinner!

So today was the rehearsal for the wedding on saturday at the church. It has been a while since I have seen these two! We wasted no time getting back in to the swing of things! After the rehearsal we headed over to Alex's parents house for some Famous Dave's BBQ and drinking! Obviously Amber and Alex were having a good time after a few drinks!

My other Lumix lasted long enough... Now it is time to upgrade! Lets see how these pictures turn out! I'm excited to start shooting confident again!

Twins Game at Home!

My travel buddy Jeff and I went to a Twins game vs. Oakland. Yeah we didn't win. But that is the second Twins game I have been to this season. I want to hit up the game when we play the Angels out in Anaheim. I'll be back in Cali next week so I have a good chance of making it!

Wisconsin

To buy alcohol in this area on a sunday you have to drive all the way out to Wisconsin! Sarah and I went and visited my buddy Andy and met his new girlfriend Wendy. She's a nice girl! I hope he finds what he is looking for. 

Tokio Hotel at Myth

This is a German band that came to Myth today. My buddy Jeff works for a promotional company, O Productions, and asked me to shoot the show while I am in town. It was fun to get back to shooting a concert and seeing all my friends at Myth! Not that I miss doing that on a daily basis but there is this energy at a concert that just surrounds you and can totally engulf you. It is an experience that I have found to be a commonality between genres and a link to humanity. When something so different as these are; Pat Benetar, Dj Skribbles, Korn, and Coldplay, you just have to think that this energy is almost a lifeforce of its own. It is incredible to watch people pour out their heart and soul out on stage for everyone to enjoy. It can be so vulnerable and so strong at the same time. The contradiction reminds me of my everyday life.

Lost Pictures...

This is a picture I lost in my catastrophic encounter with an older memory card reader. So I was out and going to try out the new restaurant Flame Grill in Rosedale mall and figured I would shoot this picture again. It was going to end up on my blog at an earlier date but later is better than never!

Babysitting Jack!

I babysat Jack today! I got him to do some smiling for the camera so enjoy!!

800 Miles!

So I woke up today in Arkansas. It was an extremely long drive! It took us around 14 hours to make it but we did! I can tell you that there isn't much to do in the car for 14 hours. So I made this video. I thought you might all enjoy it!

Tennessee Barbeque!!!

All I have to say is absolutely AMAZING!!! This meal here was a Half rack of Ribs and Beef Brisket, Fried Corn on the Cobb, and Baked Beans.... Mmmmmmm..... This is what BBQ is all about! I can't wait to get another plate tomorrow! We also stopped by the Jim Beam distillery today and tomorrow we are going to Jack Daniels! Sweet!

Good Luck Right?

So a bird shit on my cousin Cory as we were about to start pictures on the wedding day! I hope that means good luck! Either way they are a great couple. I'm very happy and excited that Cory is married to Julie. She is a great girl and I'm sure they will be happy together for a very long time!

Kentucky!

Well we made it to KY! The butterfly as at the reception hall and the first picture I took in this state! I was pretty impressed with it! So we met up with the family and had lunch. Now its about time to get the tuxes, finally have a drink, and relax! The wedding will go great tomorrow and my only other Knutson cousin is going to be married! Julie is a great girl! She better hold on for the ride, welcome to the family!

I made it out alive...

So in Ohio there is an Shawnee Indian Reservation that has a cave underneath it. This place reminded me of the Devil's Rejects. The first guy we saw had long hair and a beard to match that looked like he hadn't combed it or cut it in 10 years. They had a little community of trailers that most of them lived in and they made a living touring the caves below and throwing rock concerts on their back lawn. They also had a ceremony grounds in back that I didn't want to see. It was definitely a bunch of eccentric people. But all in all the cave was interesting and we made it out alive! Lets see what the rest of the day has to offer!

I am in Ohio!

Drove through Wisconsin, Illinois, and Indiana today! It was a long car ride but we are here and it only took one day! So we are going to visit with my aunt and uncle for a day and move on to Cincinnati for my cousin's wedding this weekend!

Mickey's Diner!

I finaly ate at the Diner! I tried to make it out there the last time I was in town but I couldn't make it. So I went out there last night! It was pretty good food! I had a toasted cheese with bacon and a bowl of chili! It was a little much to be eating so late but I couldn't stop! Now I leave for my road trip to Ohio tomorrow with my parents to go to my cousins wedding! Should be a good time! It may be hard for me to post though! I'll try my best!

Found it!

I met another Playmate on Friday, Kayla Collins, at a party thrown by my fiends Taylortainment at Envy nightclub downtown Minneapolis. 

Saturday!

Today I went and hung out with the fam! We had a great dinner and played some games. It was really good to see them. It has been a while. My cousin made me this really awesome Root Beer Float! Later on that night my buddy Aaron has a band called Hate Beast. They had a show at the Rock, a nightclub by my house, and this picture of him is as he was playing the last song jumped out into the crowd and finished the guitar solo! It was a great day altogether! 

Terrible loss of images!

It was only one night of my life that I had lost but there were some pictures that go down in the record books. Well at least from what I am imagining in my head they could've been. I know there were two images that were blog material! No good! So on that down note. I am going to post this video of the bike tricks I watched in Huntington Beach last weekend because I am watching the X Games and I should be there! 

Jack!!

This was when I saw Jack for the first time after I got back! He smiled so big! He is the cutest kid ever!

The earthquake in Chino Hills was a 5.8! I felt it. I'm safe and ok!

Been busy!

A few friends and I went out to check out the OC Fair! We all had a great time! The shock for me was there is only one stand that has Cheese curds! I had to ask information. What is that about! After all the craziness at the fair we didn't get enough so we headed over to the US Open in Surfing on Huntington Beach! This party was ragin! Just check the shots I put up here. There was a ton of skin, sports, and fun to be indulged in! Now Kevin and I are off to go see Dark Knight! The last time we tried to go see it there was a line around the block! Hopefully better luck today!

Moving day!

This is my little storage unit with almost all of my stuff. I have a few boxes I have to add. We had to get the truck back so we took everything that I had and that wouldn't fit in the car. It doesn't look like much. I like being a minimalist. There is no reason to own much more than essentials. Live free.

Made the Headlines.

Front page. 60,000 lbs of roasted meat and cheese... Gross. I'm just glad I only got caught in 7 miles vs the 20 it ended up to be!

Longest traffic jam I have been in...

I went 7 miles in 4 hours today. This Truck had an accident with another car that is torched behind it on the hill. It stopped traffic headed south through Camp Pendleton. It was brutal. I was calling everyone I knew, texting people, and I even put my car in park and walked around it once just to stretch. So much for being on time to work... I showed up and they sent me to go get lunch. Back in the car I went....

Pizza Uno!

I got to eat Pizza Uno today!!! I ran an errand down to Escondido and picked this up for lunch! If you have never heard of it, this is a chain out of Chicago where they claim (like 10 other restaurants in Chicago) they invented Deep Dish Pizza in 1943. I don't care who invented it really but this is great pizza! If you are ever in Chicago the original spot is on Ohio and Wabash! Go!!!!

Had to.

This is a disk that a guy we were playing frisbee golf along side us found. The inscription is hilarious. I didn't do too bad today. We had to skip a few holes and leave to go pick my buddy Kevin up from the airport though!

Model Party!

What 'chu talkin 'bout Willis? My buddy Will was hanging up in San Jose and took the train down for the weekend. We hit up a party in Anaheim, hosted by a photographer I know Isaac Madera. It was a pretty good time! We played some pool on the Jaguar print felt. Then Will decided to jump in the studio and was doing acrobatics with this model. It was a pretty crazy party! Always a raging time with Will!

Sushi!

This is my Crunch Roll! I wasn't the biggest fan of sushi but my buddy Ben is. He brought me to this place in Costa Mesa that makes some sweet food. We tried a ton of stuff! From the Yellowtail and Ahi Tuna to the Crunch roll, the Shrimp Sushi to the seared Albacore belly with smelt eggs on the top, the Spicy Scallop roll to the Mango and Green Tea Ice Cream wrapped in Boba. Oh and I can't forget the California roll. Haha we had a feast of Sushi! Some of it I still don't have the taste for but I do like all of the cooked stuff I ate. My sister would be proud.

Going the other direction?

I hope not. You wouldn't be going very fast on this 8 lane freeway almost in gridlock. Haha. We were moving at a decent pace for a friday after work heading in the direction of the county fair. Which reminds me I should go there this weekend...

LV 2H8 U

Thats what this car's license plate said on my way home. They also have a Dave Matthews Band sticker, the fire dancer, on the back of the car so it's a little contradictory unless they have a good story. Which you better if you have a plate like this. Could you imagine going to the counter at the DMV and asking for this plate? Do you think they are going to be extra nice to you? Haha They aren't very nice in the first place! Oh how the DMV workers love their job!

"Fake Head"

So today I shot drinks. Here is a picture of Fidel blowing bubbles giving the beer head! So many of the shoots I have been on have "opened up my eyes" to inside tricks. It totally takes the fun out of it tell you the truth. Knowing and being a part of when you go to a restaurant and see the pics of the food that its un-edible. This is not good. Sometimes it can spoil the must hungry appetite. I try to not let it though. I'm skinny enough the way it is!! Sometimes though, like this glass of Stella, a shot can still make my mouth water. I'm not even a fan of Stella.... Way to go Fidel!

New Belgium Brewery.

Goal: Visit Fort Collins, Co and take a tour of this fine brewery! I was packing up some stuff today and I ran across this box. You all might know the New Belgium Brewery for its most famous beer, Fat Tire. This is an amazing seasonal that I first had on my last trip to Chicago. Anyways, my cousin lives in Fort Collins and I need to get out there and visit! Anyone want to meet me out there???

Again! Man, you would think that I love that place... Haha. This is the long wedding trip. My cousin's then Alex's. Then the day after I'm back on a plane to work monday. Gotta make that money!

Weinermobile!

Lol! I can't say much for the girl that took this picture but I had to have my picture taken with the weinermobile! This is the second time I've seen it in real life. The first time we got to go inside of it. It has clouds painted on the ceiling! This time I couldn't find whoever was driving it but I got this pic! 

Drunk Driving is Bad.

This is one of the car ports at my apartment complex. A drunk driver over the weekend had turned onto the on ramp of the freeway next to the complex and careened his car through the back of the building at six in the morning. It was far away from me but I saw this the next day and was completely shocked! I just can't believe how fast he must've been going or he had to have a big truck! This is a big hole!! Damn!

Interesting fact.

This is a map of all the dry counties and partially dry counties in the US. The most ironic thing, the idea that inspired me to research this, is the fact that the Jack Daniels distillery is in a dry county. There is a special addendum to the law though that lets tourists buy little souvenir bottles of the liquor. At least you can buy some then right? But you can't drink it! At least there you can't. I wonder how they deal with the people that taste the booze and make sure they have a good product.... Is that legal?

Hooters girls....

It's fun living by a Hooters and making it there on occasion. One girl was even wearing a Bloomington, MN shirt today... Anyways, we started having all the girls stop by the table to sign our napkins. There was also a 21st Birthday at the bar today so I bought her a shot of Grand Marnier. She was getting wasted. Her friends were carting her around the bar having people buy her shots. Wow. Glad I survived my 21st Birthday, barely right Mom? Well, I hope she makes it through hers ok. There are a lot more experiences to be had after you turn 21!

Independence Day

Finale at Huntington Beach! There was about 50k people at this beach! I've never seen so many people hanging out at a beach in my life! I have more pictures too of course and maybe I'll post some later but it was great. The people were awesome and it was a great time. Watch and enjoy! I wish you could've all been there with me!

Karma II

I guess when you recognize something you see it more prominently in your life. Today was the second day in a row in which I had worked the longest day at that studio. Damn. I know tomorrow will be better. I'm working at the same studio!

All I can do is laugh when I think of how easy I had it yesterday. Today I pulled a hard 12+ hour day. I just want to go to bed. Karma is a bitch.
