Left for Santa Monica...

Today we did a shoot in Santa Monica. It was a little ironic that the shoot ended up across the street from the parking lot that my fam and I parked in when they were in town. This was the group of models we were using. They were a lively bunch!

Road to the Sun.

I walked Bear up the hill tonight and looked back. I saw the road to Heaven. If only I had an adirondack chair I would sit in the middle of the road for as long as it takes to find peace with my soul.

The Mission in San Juan Capistrano.

There is a lot of history to be spoon fed to the mind of anyone who walk through the doors of this Mission. It is said to be the first building to be built in this glorious Golden State. For it to be standing to this day is a miracle and oh what a beautiful place. Part of its majesty is that a breed of swallows migrate here 6000 miles from Argentina every year on March 19th. They have it down to the day. I'm going to be there this March waiting. I want to experience that! Anyway, my family and I toured the mission before they flew out tonight. We also had a picnic on the bluff above the State Beach and walked down to play at the beach. It was a great day. Too bad they had to leave so soon.

Happy Birthday Russ!

Man there are a lot of Birthdays in January! So Happy Birthday Bro! We went to Disney Land today. It was a crazy theme park! I wish I would've went when this would've blown my mind. It was still pretty cool! The California Adventure part of the park was pretty cool as well. The roller coaster The Screamer was a gnarly ride! I really liked that. Its amazing that something like an amusement park can bridge a generation gap. Something for everyone. I would like to achieve that with my art someday. A goal I strive to achieve.

Jacks First Time Seeing the Ocean!

At 7 months! I was 21 years old damn it! He was having a lot of fun though! When we dipped his feet in though it was a little cold and it scared him. It was a little funny... Sorry Jack!

Ah hard at work practicing our game in building 8. Now the game I really wanted to try was behind me when I took this picture. A three-screen projection video game where you hit the ball into the screen and change out the hitting mats for rough, sand, and fairway! High-tech.

Recap Rewind!

So a few friends stopped out last night and we headed to Trestles for sunset! This was the first time I have spent my birthday out of MN. It was a crazy time like always! I decorated the rooftop patio a few days ago with some xmas lights to change it up a bit. I've always wanted to have a rooftop party since I moved into the place and what a better time than my birthday! We all had so much fun!

Thank you everyone for your birthday wishes! This is going to be the best birthday ever! I'm going to hang out on the beach and enjoy my first birthday without snow!!! Maybe I'll wear some shorts today!

Temporary Office this Morning.

I actually was on the phone while taking this picture. It was such a great morning!! Made some calls, talked some business, and now its time to enjoy the weather! The Santa Ana winds are still blowing. The forecast says they should still be whipping around on my birthday as well! Just to have the temperature on my birthday above 0 is awesome! Let alone the 70's or 80's! I'm super excited! 

Summer Heat Wave!!

Well I worked all day so the only little bit of the weather I got to enjoy was this gorgeous sunset from the hill behind the house. I had to get some exercise in as well... I heard the newscasters talking this morning about living the life in California. It was interesting, they all were admitting to loving the beach, weather, and sunlight but saying they never get to enjoy much of it working so hard. This just poses a question about sanity more or less. I know I go a little crazy when I miss the sweet sun rays on my face but where does the line need to be drawn? Why would you move out here to do the same thing you were doing somewhere else? I find this a lot in America. We take a lot for granted.

Even Better?

How can you beat a day in your life as sublime as yesterday? Well I'm rooting for San Diego to win in the playoffs, its warmer today by a few degrees, and I'll be headed off to the comedy club tonight for a few laughs! I gotta get back to the sun! See you on the flipside!

A Little Slice of Summer.

It is about 75 degrees today and what can you do but take advantage of that?!? So I moseyed down to the beach! It seems forever ago when we would and spend all day frolicking amid the sand tossing a disk or enjoying the sun is some other manner. Then it was off to the pub for a few absurd games of foosball! Haha to feel young again!

Haha, this is the gas price today. It surprises me that when I was in Chicago the price was over $2/gallon. I thought that So Cal was the most expensive place for gas in the country. Its nice to know that we all learn new things day to day.

This is the three part recipe for my day. Back to reality as we know it. After the fruitcake and egg nog have long since passed. We all head back to our homes from our trips to memories of a distant future. I take a minute to reflect, with the suns criticism beaming on my face. Where is the light?

LA here I come! Then its on down the the homestead in San Clemente. Things couldn't have worked out better for such a lack of planning on my part. Sometimes I have such a faith in things working out I subconsciously test my theory. This time I seemed to be in good light. I arrive home with a new outlook.
