I want to make it back here before I go... This is the San Diego skyline from Coronado. What a beautiful shore. Robin and I took a little trip out to Coronado and took a little self tour of the famous Hotel del Coronado. What a sweet place! If you ever make it to San Diego... Thats where you need to stop by.

On my way home I drove over the mountains on the 74 from Lake Elsinore to San Juan. I discovered a whole trail system that I am interested in exploring! I'm sure you will hear more about it soon! 

Desert Day Number 2.

I started this day early. I headed out to the Palm Oasis. I've never been to one of those before! I started walking up the canyon made up of huge boulders, cactus, and some wildflowers. It was about a mile up the canyon that I set my eyes on the oasis, a group of palm trees, right in the middle of the desert! It was a sweet experience! Thats why I invite you to share it with me! I had to shoot some video! Also on the way up I ran across a guy shooting photos as well, his name is Jimi. He is a studio manager for Smashbox Studios up in LA. What are the chances...

I Ventured on to the Desert.

Let the adventure begin! I made it to the Anza-Borrego Desert today! I stopped in the visitors center and asked for the lowdown on the highlights of the park. I was pointed north and headed to Henderson Canyon. There I encountered this statue (there were statues all over Borrego Springs, the city in the valley of the mountains) what an interesting character. I'm going to use him for some images....

Decide to Head Out to the Desert.

Well I have a long weekend coming up and I decided I wanted to get out and take some pictures. It was a toss up between the desert and the coastline but the weather made the decision for me. I was off to the desert! The desert is such a mysterious place of wonder. It is so different from where I grew up it just fascinates me. Lets see what kind of an adventure this can turn into!

So one of the projects I have been working on is compiling some of the best posts from the first year of DITLOCD. This is the proof copy. I'm just making final revisions and it should be available for purchase real soon! Keep an eye out!

Pinhole Sunset.

Today I made a sharper pinhole lens. The first one was a little too blurry for what I wanted the images to look like. Here is one of the images I took today. Also, today I checked out the first proof of my new project! I'm excited! I should have it finished and rolled out real soon! Keep checking back!

Or is it Peeping Camera Dan? Haha, It was raining all day today so I decided to take some shots through the blinds. I like how they turned out! Maybe you will see some more soon!

My First Digital Pinhole Image!

Today I was channeling the spirit of MacGyver and created a pinhole lens for my Digital SLR. All I needed was a Coke can, body cap, a Camera Dan pin, and some Duct tape! Haha but seriously folks thats all I used to make this image. It was about a three second exposure. I should have some more images to show you soon!

I thought I might have one of those images to show you today... Yeah.. That didn't go as planned. So here is an image that was on the roll I finished up. I thought you might enjoy. I'll have some nocturne images soon enough. Keep checking up.

Nocturne Images.

I shot some of these tonight as an experiment. Lets see how they turn out. This type of image has always intrigued me. The night just captivates me, it surrounds me, engulfs me. It is a sanctuary for those who seek seclusion out in the open world. It comes and goes as the sun does. The relationship they have is unlike any other. Then just throw the moon in the mix and Damn! You have yourself one insane astronomical party! Lets join!

I told him not to do it. Haha Oh well. Jahnna's brother Justin was in town and they came down Sat night to hang out! We had a great time! It has been about a year since the last time I had seen Justin. We had a great time!

New Project!

Well I've been plugging away with work the past few days! I came up with a new project that I'm starting to work on. Look for it coming out in the next couple months! You'll know what it is when you see it!

Here is an ad that Michael and I shot the last time we were at the Callaway Test Center. I had posted about it Nov. 11th. Its always satisfying to see an ad you worked on come out.

So today marks the one year anniversary of Day in the Life of Camera Dan! I'm stoked! Its amazing to look back and see where I was and what I've went through in this past year of my life. I hope that you venture on with me to new heights in the next year!
